The difference between kinesio and sports tapes lies in their elasticity and thus their function.
Kinesiotapes are highly elastic and allow you optimal freedom of movement with a stretch of up to 200%. They are used for the rehabilitation and treatment of sports injuries, e.g. tendon insertion irritations, torn muscle fibres, muscular tension or imbalances.* Kinesiotapes offer you noticeable postural support through increased proprioceptive feedback and optimal movement support.
In contrast to kinesiotapes, inelastic sports tapes are tensile and rigid and restrict freedom of movement. As a result, they support the immobilisation and stabilisation of injured or weakened joints and ligaments. At the same time, they serve to prevent injuries, e.g. ankle injuries, such as ligament injuries caused by classic "twisting of the ankle" or injuries to the skin caused by abrasions during climbing or Crossfit.
