TRUETAPE: how to tape your ankle

Taping tips

Apply tape 1 hour before starting an activity

Thoroughly remove dirt, moisture, oils and lotions from the skin before taping

Do not wear the tape for longer than 7 days

To activate the adhesive, carefully rub the tape several times after applying

In areas that are particularly hairy, trim the hair to ensure the tape sticks better

Remove paper backing before application and always make sure the ends of the tape are applied WITHOUT stretch

Application ankle - Starting position
STARTING POSITION

Sit down on the floor or a chair and bend your leg.

1. STRIP

Application ankle - Step 1
75% STRETCH

Tear the paper backing in the middle and peel it back. Apply the tape with 75% stretch to the out- and frontside of your ankle.

Application ankle - Step 2
0% STRETCH

Pull your foot towards the shin and wrap the back end of the tape around your Achilles without stretch.

Application ankle - Step 3
0% STRETCH

Apply the front end of the tape without stretch towards the heel.

2. STRIP

Application ankle - Step 4
0% STRETCH

Apply the anchor of the second strip without stretch just above the outside of your ankle.

Application ankle - Step 5
50% STRETCH

Tape with 50% stretch over the outside of the ankle, curve around the bottom of your foot...

Application ankle - Step 6
50% STRETCH

...and further upwards over the inside of your ankle.

0% STRETCH

Apply the end of the tape without stretch just above the first strip at the inside of your ankle.

3. STRIP

Application ankle - Step 8
0% STRETCH

Apply the anchor without stretch just ahead of the other strip on the outside of your foot.

Application ankle - Step 9
50% STRETCH

Pull your foot towards the shin again and apply the tape with 50% stretch just below the outside of your ankle.

Application ankle - Step 10
50% STRETCH

Further curve around your Achilles and the inside of your ankle with 50% stretch.

Application ankle - Step 11
0% STRETCH

Apply the last bit of tape without stretch to the inside of your foot.

Application ankle - Step 12
DONE!

Make sure to give the whole application another good rub to activate the adhesive. Congrats, that's it.
